Reporting, Complaint and Resolution Processes

Title IX Resolution

This overview explains how Cal Poly San Luis Obispo responds when the Civil Rights & Compliance Office receives a report or complaint under the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy. It outlines the support offered to complainants and the different resolution options available — ranging from supportive measures only, to informal resolution, to a formal investigation, hearing, and appeal — so individuals can understand what to expect and make informed choices.

Title IX Formal Resolution

This flowchart explains the formal resolution process under the CSU Nondiscrimination Policy, including how complaints are investigated, reviewed, and resolved through either a hearing or non-hearing process. It outlines each step  from notice of investigation through final decision and appeal so parties understand their rights, opportunities to participate, and what to expect throughout the process.

Title IX Informal Resolution Process

This flowchart outlines the Informal Resolution process, showing the step-by-step path from both parties’ voluntary agreement to participate through facilitated discussions aimed at reaching mutually acceptable outcomes. It also clearly illustrates that participation is optional, parties never have to meet directly, and if agreement is not reached, the matter returns to the formal resolution process.
